The true story of Danny Greene, a tough Irish thug working for mobsters in Cleveland during the 1970’s. The Irishman chronicles the rise and fall of infamous Cleveland gangster Danny Greene (Ray Stevenson), who engaged in a power struggle with the Italian mob. Greene started as a longshoreman union rep and later became a legendary troublemaker in the world of organized crime.
Christopher Walken will play the loan shark and nightclub owner Shondor Birns and Val Kilmer is a Cleveland police detective who befriends Greene.

The Irishman is scheduled for release in 2010. Kilmer also starred with D'Onofrio in The Salton Sea.
