The Seventh Man, chronicles two-years in the lives of rural Americans in a small central Texas community, as they come together to support their six-man football team—the Panther Creek Panthers.
Take a journey from the early beginnings of six-man football in Chester, Nebraska, created by Stephen 
Epler in 1933, to its establishment in Texas in the late 1930’s, to what it is today.
Follow the Panthers and their fans as they struggle through the 1999 season, the domination in the regular season, to the devastating loss at the hands of power-house Gordon in the State Quarter-finals. Experience the joy and the enthusiasm of the coaches, players and community, as the Panthers rise again in 2000 to win the State Championship in dramatic fashion. Learn what six-man football means to this small community as fans travel hundreds of miles to support their team.
