2008 saw the birth or actually re-birth of a wonderful CD Val Kilmer in Sessions with Mick Second Edition.
This is an eclectic collection written and performed by Kilmer and his writing/singing partner, Mick Rossi.
Kilmer released the original CD in 2007 which included seven original songs. It was very well received and made the top 30 list on Reverbnation, a popular music website that showcases music of thousands of new and established artists.
Val Kilmer in Sessions has been re-mastered adding richness and depth to the original compilation. This time around Sessions sports eight tracks.
Pigtails and A Song Beyond Your Years are upbeat and great new keyboards are an added bonus. Three ballads; True Friend, We All Need and All Children are Beautiful feature Kilmer's earthy vocal style. Kilmer weaves a chilling tale of betrayal and murder in Frontier Justice.
There are two covers included, After the Gold Rush written by Neil Young and an amazing rendition of Randy Newman's I Think It' Gonna Rain.
All proceeds of Val Kilmer in Sessions with Mick are donated to Kilmer's favorite charities.
